Rogers & Gray Insurance has announced the retirement of Charles "Chuck" Robinson, whose sons, Michael and David Robinson, have taken over leadership of the company.
Michael Robinson is now chairman of the board, while David Robinson is president and CEO.
Michael Robinson joined Rogers & Gray since 2003 after working in finance and strategic planning for two large health care organizations in Boston. He will oversee sales, marketing, IT and finance with the agency. He has a bachelor's degree from Ithaca College and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, and is active with a number of local organizations, including A Baby Center and the Cape Cod Young Professionals.
David Robinson joined the agency in 2005. He is a graduate of Tabor Academy and the University of Colorado. After starting his career in the financial-planning sector, he became involved in the Employee Benefits and Personal Insurance divisions of Rogers & Gray. He will be responsible for the service operations of the agency and human resources. He is also active in a variety of local organizations and trade groups.
Chuck Robinson began his career with Rogers & Gray in 1970. He bought the agency in 1980, growing the business from three locations and 12 employees to eight locations and 130 employees today.
APPOINTMENTS
John Van Baars has been promoted to vice president, director of enterprise content and collaboration management, at the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank.
Van Baars previously served as systems support and development project manager.
Before joining Cape Cod Five in 2013, he was a Web developer for a large health care system. He has 13 years of experience in the banking industry.
Van Baars, a Yarmouth Port resident, is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and has studied computer Web applications at Boston University.
Libby Slader Interior Design has completed its design of Estia Taverna & Bar in Mashpee Commons.
Estia, which opened in November at 26 Steeple St., specializes in modern Greek cuisine and coal-fired pizza.
Slader is also working on two other jobs in Mashpee Commons: the renovation of Asia, a sushi bar and restaurant, and the interior design of apartments that are scheduled to be built soon.
Slader, whose firm is based in Providence, Rhode Island, has a design portfolio that includes Royal Caribbean cruise ships, the National Bank of Kuwait and the U.S. Embassy in La Paz, Bolivia.
