Libby is an award-winning designer who began her career as a designer in 1988. Since then she has worked and lived in Boston, Massachusetts, Los Angeles, California, New York, New York and Providence, Rhode Island.
In 2000, Libby returned to her native Rhode Island and worked at the award-winning design firm, Morris Nathanson Design (MND). During her tenure at MND, she was project designer and project manager for many renowned projects including, the largest cruise ship in the world, Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas and her sister ship Oasis of the Seas; as well as many adaptive reuse projects, such as the award winning Royal Mills in West Warwick, RI.
Living and working around the country has given her the opportunity to work on such projects as United States Embassies in La Paz, Bolivia and the Consulate Office Building in Hong Kong, high end commercial offices and residences in the Middle East, such as the National Bank of Kuwait in Kuwait City, Kuwait and the offices of Investcorp in Manama, Bahrain. While in California, Libby was the Manager of Design at Sony Pictures Entertainment in Culver City, California. Libby worked on many well-known motion picture and television producer offices such as Happy Madison Productions and Lovespell Entertainment and various department offices such as Sony Pictures Marketing and On-Line Entertainment.
Since 2006, Libby has been an instructor in the Continuing Education department of the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. Her course, Commercial Design 2 (Hospitality Design) is taught within the Interior Design Certificate program.
Libby is a member of the board of Rhode Island Citizens for the Arts, an advocacy organization for the arts and creative sector in Rhode Island.
Libby earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design (Interiors) from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University. She has her certification in interior design from the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and is a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
